6-2-25   THOUGHTS

Paul says something most interesting in our reading today.  Paul chooses Timothy for an important task because his other options don’t seem to be good?  He has one man that seeks Christ’s interest out of another group who “seek their own interests”!  Paul wants the Church at Philippi to “hold fast the word of life”!   He wishes “joy and rejoicing” between them and him.  

Php 2:16-21    holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. 17  But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.  18  You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me. 19  But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition. 20  For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare. 21  For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.

My Prayer:
Father. May we learn the lessons we read in your Word.  Help us to hold fast the word of life.  Guide us to seek the interests of Christ rather than our own interests.  May we be a people who share joy and awesome love in our fellowship.  May our love for each other grow as we earnestly seek You.  We praise and honor and love You, Father God.  Thank You for all things, especially that we are Your children.   In Jesus’ name,    Amen.
